MAKING A LIVING

Posted under Blog

I don’t know how some of these personal injury attorneys can sleep at night. I just got notice that I’m being sued for twenty thousand dollars by a customer that was in my store. I’m here every day and run a respectable business, with which I’m barely making ends meet. I can’t recall anyone at all who’s ever been injured in my store, let alone to the tune of twenty thousand dollars. The lawsuit is for medical bills, pain and suffering, missed salary – the injury is listed as a back and leg injury caused by contact with a merchandise display unit. All of a sudden the memory came back to me, it was about a month ago, I overheard a woman complain to my cashier that she had ripped her pants and cut herself on one of the shelves of a display, my cashier told the woman to hold on one minute while she got her boss, but before I made it out of the office she was gone. Before I could even offer her anything, she was out the door, awfully fast for a lady with a twenty thousand dollar injury I might add. Now some snake in the grass lawyer has her convinced that she should take me for all I’m worth, well I’m going to get myself a good lawyer because losing twenty grand would put me out of business and I’m not quite ready to retire yet.
