My neighbors are moving and this time they are really excited about the move. We are a military family and live on base with other military families. Military relocation has been a part of our lives for the last sixteen years. My neighbor just received his new orders and he and his family are moving to Hawaii. It was such a coincidence as just last week his wife and I were looking at vacation brochures and Hawaii was on the top of our vacation list. We were talking about how we were so tired of the cold weather and darkness here in Alaska and how nice it would be to be to spend time in the warmth of the sun in Hawaii. We were imagining celebrating Christmas on the beach in our bikinis. Well, we do have good imaginations. We could see ourselves drinking pina-coladas as we watch the hula dancers swing their grass skirts. Now my friends will be living there for the next four years. I sure hope we will get to visit them. At least we will be sure of a place to stay if we could get over there. Or better yet, maybe my husband will be relocated to Hawaii too.
