I decided I would have my eye doctor fit me with monovision contact lenses to see if I could get used to wearing them. One of the contact lenses would be fitted so that I could focus on close-up tasks and the other one would be fitted so my eyesight would be corrected so I could see distances. I was looking for a way that I would not have to be dependent on my eyeglasses when I was working closely with my computer, or doing my needlepoint. I was also looking to see if I would be able to live with this option rather than have the Lasik eye surgery that I have been contemplating for quite a while now. I have just about decided that I probably will not go through with the surgery. I think I am just too nervous about all the twists and turns that can happen after having the surgery. And what is the point of having the surgery if there is still a possibility of my having to wear eyeglasses? The reason I considered it in the first place was I wanted to get rid of my eyeglasses forever. But realistically it does not work that way.
